Wadi Gnai, also written as Wadi Qunay, Wadi Gunay or Bir Wadi Qnai is traditionally a source of Water for the local Bedouin tribe of the Muzeina and they have been climbing there in the Waterfall area to get water out of pools since before recorded history. It is also a popular getaway for people from Dahab and Tourists from all over the world.
Getting there
You can reach Wadi Gnai from Dahab within 15 minutes by Bedouin Pickup. Access is easy, just ask the Bedouin Guides with their offroad-vehicles to bring you to one of the well-known climbing spots within Wadi Gnai.
The Sectors in this area
Wadi Gnai has 3 main Sectors, the Waterfall right upon entering the Wadi it comes up on your left, opposite the Malakot Oasis. Then following the main canyon up you will reach Camel Canyon, where the Wadi narrows up to less than 20m width and long 50-100m high walls on either side. Continuing up over the more and more bumpy dirt track you will finally reach the end of the road at Bedouin Garden, which also lies in the bouldering area of Wadi Gnai.
